Journaling for Self-Discovery
Journaling for Self-Discovery
$100.00

Instructor: Pam Sourelis

Genre: Journaling

Level: Everyone is welcome.

Length: Two-Session Workshop

Time: Wednesday, July 13 & 20, 7-9 pm CDT

Format: Zoom

Limit: 10

Quantity:

A journal is a powerful tool. Whether you write in a linen-covered notebook or on the white screen of your computer, your journal is a safe, private place for self-reflection, a place to record the night’s dreams, to speak with yourself about a life transition, to meditate on the joy of an hour by the lake. It is a place to get in touch with your subconscious mind, with your creative fire, with your heart, your challenges, your beliefs, your goals.

In this two-session workshop, you will experiment with a variety of journaling techniques to introduce, or re-introduce, you to the practice of journaling. Each evening, I will share three prompts, and we will quietly write together. You will not be asked to share your writing. But you will be invited to share your observations and discoveries.

There is something magical about writing, listening, and sharing in community.

Testimonials:

I really loved the simplicity of the prompts. They were straightforward, yet deep, offering a lot of trust to the writer.

I also loved the spaciousness of the time limits. Fifteen minutes felt really good. The time I spent writing in those sessions reminded me how much I benefit from doing this kind of writing–thinking, feeling, exploring on the page.
-April Bossard, author and teacher

I took Pam’s journal writing workshop and loved, loved, loved it. It is the gift that keeps on giving. I find a useful practice in so many ways with benefits I didn’t even anticipate. Pam is an excellent teacher. She keeps the class on-target and engaging…and inspires you to take what you learn and grow with it. Great stuff!
– Leslie Cook, teacher

This workshop helped me to slow down from the daily rush. Alone this result would be worth the price of the workshop! I tried so many things to slow down and nothing really stuck. This did.

I used to write. I had an almost daily writing habit for many years, and then it stopped when my children were born. This workshop reignited that habit. Now I’m writing daily again. I was missing this feeling sooo much!
– Péter Várnai, filmmaker and tech coach
