Quantity:

This class will give you a 360-degree view of today’s rapidly changing publishing landscape from an industry veteran who has worked as both agent and publisher. Small press or big? Traditional, self-publishing, or hybrid? This class will be primarily lecture-based, with plenty of time for Q and A. You’ll leave this class with a better sense of how publishing today works, how to prepare to submit your work, and you’ll learn some general dos and don’ts. In addition, we’ll talk about the financial side of what you can expect once you’ve landed a book deal.

Chris Fischbach is a literary agent, producer, curator, and consultant at Fischbach Creative. Prior to that, he was the publisher and executive director of Coffee House Press, where he worked for twenty-five years. While there, he acquired and edited Karen Tei Yamashita, Valeria Luiselli, Ben Lerner, Hernan Diaz, Kao Kalia Yang, and many others. He is also currently on the board of directors of the MInnesota Prison Writing Workshop..
